Introducing the Spokesman-Review’s trip of the month series

The Spokesman-Review Outdoors section is happy to restart a regular installment featuring outdoor trips throughout the Spokane area. In the 1990s, longtime Spokesman-Review outdoors editor Rich Landers ran his popular Classic Trips in the Inland Northwest column.

We’re reviving that. We’ll feature trips of varying style, difficulty, length and commitment. For longtime readers of The S-R, some of the trips will be familiar. But they’ll be presented in a new and more modern way with a greater focus on online accessibility. All will include photos, detailed trip reports and online resources, including GPS tracks.

The kickoff trip is a tried-and-true classic snowshoe loop on Spokane’s hometown mountain suitable for beginning snowshoers and children.

If you have trip ideas, please email them to outdoors editor Eli Francovich at elif@spokesman.com subject line: Trip of the Month.
