Medical examiner identifies man who died in rollover in Rearden

The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office released the name of the man who died in a rollover crash in northwest Spokane County on Friday.

John B. Smith, 62, died in the crash at the 1000 block of North Wood Road..

Shortly after noon, Smith was driving south on Wood Road when his SUV drifted off the west side of the road, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office. He then over-corrected and crossed the opposite lane of travel. His car left the roadway, flipped and came to rest on its side.

Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.
