Body found near train tracks in Hauser area

A body has been found near train tracks in the Hauser area at Idaho 53 and North Pleasantview Road.

Police and firefighters responded to a report of a train hitting a pedestrian at 12:02 a.m. and found the body of a white male shortly after arriving, according to Larry Simms, fire chief of the Hauser Lake Fire Protection District, and a news release from Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office.

Information was scant Sunday. Investigators were at the scene Sunday, Simms said.

Deputies asked the public to use alternate routes as Pleasantview Road was closed at Prairie Avenue.
