State soccer: Ferris downed by Mount Si; Lakeside edged by Vashon Island in semifinals
Reed Paradissis scored on a header off a corner kick in the 37th minute for the go-ahead goal and Mount Si beat Ferris 2-1 in a State 4A boys soccer semifinal at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup on Friday.
Ferris (18-3-0) took the lead in the 24th minute, but Drew Harris answered 2 minutes later for Mount Si (17-2-0) as he headed home a cross from Joey Salem to even the score.
The Saxons play Jackson in the third-place game on Saturday.
Vashon Island 2, Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) 0: Tommy Delargy scored in the 12th minute and the Pirates (17-2-2) topped the Eagles (17-1-1) in a State 1A semifinal at Sunset Stadium in Sumner.
Vashon Island added a penalty-kick goal in the 75th minute.
Lakeside faces Overlake (14-3-4) in the state third-place game on Saturday at 10 a.m. The Owls lost to Winlock/Toledo 2-1 in a semifinal.
