Everett uses five-run eighth inning to oust CC Spokane

LONGVIEW, Wash. – Sam Linscott’s two-run single capped a five-run eighth inning and the Everett Trojans rallied for an 11-6 victory over the Community Colleges of Spokane, eliminating the Sasquatch from the Northwest Athletic Conference baseball tournament on Sunday.

Linscott finished with five singles in six at-bats, driving in three runs.

The Sasquatch (31-16) evened the score at 6 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Kyle Lawson walked with the bases loaded and Thomas Edwards’ added an RBI groundout. But Everett (38-9) reliever Brian Pino (1-0) induced a bases-loaded groundout from Jadan Vandervert to end the inning and allowed just one baserunner over the final two innings to pick up his first win of the season.

McKabe Cottrell (0-1) took the loss for CCS. Cottrell surrendered four runs on one hit and two walks without retiring a batter.
