Area roundup: Michigan upsets No. 13 Washington State women’s soccer behind two early goals
PULLMAN – Sarah Stratigakis and Meredith Haakenson scored first-half goals as Michigan upset No. 13 Washington State 2-1 Friday at Lower Soccer Field.
Goalkeeper Hillary Beall made 12 saves for the Wolverines (5-2), seven in the second half.
Senior forward Morgan Weaver scored Washington State’s lone goal in the 71st minute off an Elaily Hernandez-Repreza assist.
Michigan’s goals came in the second and fourth minutes.
Washington State (4-1) hosts Loyola Marymount at 1 p.m. Sunday.
