Man arrested at Mexican border, will be extradited to Franklin County for allegedly killing mother

From staff reports

The Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office has started the process to extradite a man from California who is accused of killing his mother.

Clemente Rodriguez Torres, 33, allegedly killed his mother Estela Torres Rodriguez, 54, with his father Tiburcia Larios Rodriguez, 63, on March 28. Torres later fled to Mexico, according to a news release from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

Torres was arrested at the San Ysidro border crossing and is being held in San Diego County Jail. His father remains at large and is believed to be in Mexico.

The body of Estela Torres Rodriguez has not been recovered, but a large amount of blood was found at her home, the Tri-City Herald reported. Charges against another son in the murder investigation were dropped in June.
