Woman arrested on suspicion of hitting her boyfriend with a car

Spokane police arrested a woman Wednesday on suspicion of first-degree assault with domestic violence after allegedly hitting her boyfriend with her car .

Around 3 p.m., officers responded to a report of a car-versus-pedestrian crash near Mission Avenue and Elm Street. A witness said they thought the crash was intentional, according to a Spokane Police Department news release.

The car struck the pedestrian on the north sidewalk of Mission to the west of Elm , the release said. Then the car continued up a grassy slope and hit the side of the A.M. Cannon Aquatic Center building.

Medics arrived and evaluated both the pedestrian and the driver, and both were transported to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Officers developed probable cause to arrest the driver, Christina M. Acosta, 35, for domestic violence assault, as Acosta and the victim have been in a dating relationship, the release said. After treatment, Acosta was due to be booked into the Spokane County Jail.V
