Priest Lake Museum unveils new website

Talk about a summer transformation: The Priest Lake Museum has recently launched a brand new website giving patrons access to lake history year-round.

On the website, visitors will find sneak peeks at exhibits currently housed in the museum. Viewers also can read outdoor exhibit panels and learn more about programs and presentations and the museum’s nature garden.

Museum patrons can now, from the safety of their own home, enjoy online exhibits, videos and virtual exhibits. There also is an entire section of the website dedicated to virtual Priest Lake history.

According to a news release, that means visitors can watch Nell Shipman movies, listen to the steamboat Tyee’s pilot Russ Bishop, locate original homesteads around Nordman, check out hundreds of historic photographs and browse old Bonner County newspapers.

There also is, of course, information on how to visit and get involved with the Priest Lake Museum.

“The museum board is excited to share more of our collections and help visitors explore Priest Lake history beyond our log cabin walls,” museum president Carlos Landa said in the news release.
