Anne Hathaway gets ‘arrested’ as ‘Princess Diaries’ character at Sabrina Carpenter show

Anne Hathaway joined the legions of celebrity guests who have frequented Sabrina Carpenter’s tour in recent months. The “Princess Diaries” actress, 42, got “arrested” at Carpenter’s Oct. 26 concert in New York, becoming the latest in a long line of high-profile participants in the singer’s signature bit.

In fan videos posted to social media, Carpenter can be heard asking Hathaway, who sports a black strapless top and belted jeans, where she’s from. In jest, the actress responds “Genovia,” referencing the fictional kingdom she found herself queen of in the “Princess Diaries” franchise.

“Has anyone ever told you that you look like a princess?” Carpenter asks in the video. Hathaway responds with a grin, forming her hands into a heart before accepting the singer’s famed handcuffs.

The concert marks one of several shows Carpenter will perform in the Big Apple, showcasing music from her 2024 album “Short n’ Sweet,” now alongside new music from the freshly released “Man’s Best Friend.”
