Soccer roundup: Zephyr suffer 1-0 defeat to Fort Lauderdale in home opener

Ft. Lauderdale 1, Zephyr 0— The Spokane Zephyr (0-2-2) suffered their second loss of the season against Fort Lauderdale (0-2-6) in their home opener at ONE Spokane Stadium Saturday.  

In the 62nd minute, defender Ella Simpson converted a short-range header off a cross from Stella Nyamekye. 

Sarah McCoy led Spokane with seven of its 24 clearances and one tackle. Hope Hisey logged two saves.
