Spencer
(on Eye On Boise re: Vaughn Ward announcement tour): Why on earth would he want Dirk to be seen supporting him? Did he want this kiss of neo-con death hung around his neck or was it forced on him? This is worse than showing up to Republican party events with Kirk Sullivan or Otter. Vaughn, you have assured me you are a conservative, so why are you not surounding yourself only with actual conservatives, instead of career politicos?
Phaedrus: LarrySpencer did you not read his bio? Ward is a D.C. insider, not a conservative, he’s Dirky’s boy and his entire career seems to consist of being paid by the taxpayers of the United States. Has he ever worked in the private sector?
Question: Should Vaugh Ward listen to Spencer re: the company he keeps in making his official campaign announcement? (BTW, do you think that U.S. senator-elect Scott Brown looks like Spencer w/o a mullet?)

I don't care if he's conservative, moderate, or liberal, but anyone who is a Dirk Kempthorne person will not be getting my vote in a primary or a general.

Spencer we should turn Phaedrus loose on your mullet, perhaps he could tie some flies with the trimmings that would catch a foot long brown trout a few feet down stream from the Coney Island Sewage Treatment plant.
Phaedrus, how does a DC insider to a combat tour or two and some nice work for the CIA?
You cannot trump his combat leadership experience, Ward is tested.
Larry since you live in a trailer follow your line of thinking and stick to your own kind.

Hes surrounding himself with politicians because they get elected, stay elected, and help add legitimacy to his campaign to an electorate that largely does not pay much attention.
If you surround yourself with only conservatives, you end up being the next Bill Sali with a deep but narrow base of support. He is building a broad coalition in an attempt to build a long career, ala Dirk Kempthone, Butch Otter, Mike Crapo, Jim Risch, etc. It will annoy the far right, but ultimately lead him to a broader base. The support will be a bit more shallow, but history shows it lends itself to political longevity. I'm not saying its right or that I support it, but it is likely entering his calculations.
