Too Many Cooks

Coming soon in The Spokesman-Review Food section

When chicken thighs crackle in hot oil, Avont Grant III is happy.

Marinated in buttermilk and hot sauce, the crispy fried chicken pieces anchor one of his favorite sandwiches, stuffed with chipotle mayonnaise and spicy coleslaw.

The Spokane bartender, who goes by Foodie Bartender on Twitter and Instagram, pairs his creation with freshly squeezed lemonade spiked with Earl grey tea-infused gin. The citrus and tea flavors help balance the heat.

Get Grant’s recipes in the next Spokesman-Review Food section. Plus, look for a Just Picked feature on baby bok choy. And, as always, there’s a Fresh Sheet column full of food-related tidbits.

Cheers!
