Spokane Empire fall in double overtime to Wichita Falls

Charles Dowdell threw for six touchdowns and 254 yards, but even that wasn’t enough as the visiting Spokane Empire fell to the Wichita Falls Nighthawks 57-65 in double overtime on Friday in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Rusty Empire edge Green Bay 34-31 in season opener

It wasn’t pretty at times for the Empire, facing off against a Green Bay team that already had a 46-13 win over Cedar Rapids in Week 1. But, thankfully for the Empire, the Spokane team prevailed 34-31 in its season opener at the Arena.

The Indoor Football League’s all-time leading wide receivers could call Spokane home in 2017. The Empire announced on Friday the signings of Carl Sims (6-foot-0, 190 pounds) and Bryan Pray (5-foot-7, 185).

The Spokane Empire has added defensive lineman Royce Lafrance to their Indoor Football League roster, the team announced Sunday. Lafrance (6-foot-4, 265 pounds) played four college seasons at Tulane and will be an IFL rookie.
