Fine Food And Drink Will Make An Epicurean Delight

Lori Olson Staff writer

Any way you look at it, “Pig Out In the Park” was a success - again. Riverfront Park was jampacked Labor Day weekend as thousands of people feasted on a wide variety of food from several of Spokane’s favorite eateries.

Epicurean Delight will offer a similar opportunity next month, but in a more formal, indoor setting.

Epicurean Delight will be from 6:30 p.m. to midnight Oct. 20 at the Spokane International Agricultural Trade Center.

The Inland Northwest’s finest restaurants, wineries and breweries will combine their talents to benefit the Deaconess Women’s Clinic at the West Central Community Center.

Mary Beth Nethercutt will serve as honorary chair and Scott Jones as benefit chair. Steering committee members are John Allen, Mary Dunn, Pati Dahmen-Ray, Doug Fisher, Roberta Greene, Dennis Guenther, Barbara Hahn, Carole Jones, Marti Kransberger, Marcea Mandsager, Nancy McDaniel, Jennifer Otterstrom, Bill Poppy, John Richards, Conni Stamper and Marilyn Stocker.

Dancing starts at 9 and continues until midnight.

Participating restaurants, wineries and breweries will compete for awards for Best Display, Best Hors d’oeuvres, Best Entree, Best Dessert, People’s Choice, Interrelationship with Guests and Outstanding Grand Award for the 1995 Epicurean Delight.

Tickets are available through the Deaconess Medical Center’s Foundation office. Prices are $125 each; $1,250 for a table of 10, or $1,500 for a sponsored table. Call Marti Kransberger at 458-7228 for more information.
