Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: Having trouble reading your rain gauge from inside? Adding a few drops of food coloring before an expected rain makes it much easier to see. Blue is pretty! - Virginia Little, New Bern, N.C.

Dear Heloise: Even with the very hard water of San Antonio and without a water softener, I have discovered that a small amount of hair shampoo (least expensive) takes away the bathtub ring and leaves the tub sparkling. Best of all, it is gentle on your hands! - Helen Middleton, San Antonio

If shampoo is made to remove dirt and oil from your hair, you bet it’s going to do the same in the bathtub. Thanks for writing. - Heloise xxxx
