Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: Here’s a great hint for the elderly, the disabled and even pregnant women.

My beloved grandmother has an arthritic hip, which makes it difficult for her to reach her feet. Her hands shake, making it difficult to lace or buckle shoes, and her feet swell during the day.

One evening, as I noticed her shoes cutting into her swollen and tender feet, the perfect solution came to me. Sports sandals! They have rubber soles and self-gripping fabric tape closures that fasten securely and easily over the toes and around the ankle.

She can easily fasten them, and as her feet swell during the day she just reaches down and loosens the self-gripping closures.

These sandals can be found everywhere. - Relieved Granddaughter, Huntsville, Ala.
