Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: I expect I got this hint from your mother. At any rate, locals seem unaware of it.

I have plants indoors in moss baskets. I water them with ice cubes. Hence, I avoid dripping while keeping them moist. - P.S., Indianapolis

A hint right out of my mother’s column from the ‘60s that is still good today. - Heloise

Dear Heloise: A great space saver in the closet is a hanging shoe bag; it fits over the rod. It’s great for mittens, gloves, scarves and hats and it takes up only 6 inches of space and everything is at or near eye level. - Dorothy Jimmerman, Albany, N.Y.

Dear Heloise: I wrap a wide rubber band several times around the cap of a plastic 2-liter soda bottle. It makes it much easier to grip and remove the cap. - Diana Miller, Auburn, Ill. xxxx
