Hazel Bissonette Tensed, Idaho

A private family graveside service for Hazel Bissonette, 80, was held Monday at the Rosewood Cemetery in Fairfield. Schanzenbach Funeral Home in Fairfield was in charge of the arrangements.

Born in Fairfield, Wash., Mrs. Bissonette died Wednesday. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include three brothers, Ernest Groth of Spangle, Chester Groth of Newport, Wash., and Earl Groth of Othello, Wash.

Louis ‘Bud’ DeMaster Bellevue, Wash.

Funeral service for Louis “Bud” W. DeMaster, 76, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Renton stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Fairmount Memorial Park in Spokane.

Flintoft’s Funeral Home in Issaquah, Wash., is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. DeMaster, who was born in Bejou, Minn., died Wednesday.

He was a graduate of the University of Washington and served in the Navy during World War II as a chief electrician. He later worked for IBM and then at the Kaiser Aluminum’s Mead plant, retiring in 1983.

Mr. DeMaster was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Kaiser Retirees.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Virginia; a son, Gregory DeMaster of Orange, Calif.; three stepdaughters, JoAnna Tolman of Spokane, Kathleen Davenport of Tigard, Ore., and Stephanie Skaggs of Salt Lake City; two stepsons, Jerry Skaggs of Logan, Utah, and Paul Skaggs of Providence, Utah; two sisters, Irene Vruwink of Pella, Iowa, and Tony Agerter of Vancouver, Wash.; three grandchildren and 18 stepgrandchildren.

Dorothy Jameson Spokane

Service for Dorothy W. Jameson, 92, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jameson, who was born in Toledo, Ohio, died Wednesday.

She graduated from high school in Hastings, Neb., and worked for Vordahl’s Variety Store for 25 years until her retirement.

Mrs. Jameson was a member of the Ramona Rebekah Lodge and Rebekah District Association No. 2.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 1978. Her survivors include two sons, Gerald Jameson of Spokane and George Jameson of Libby, Mont.; a daughter, Dorothy Lindgren of Spokane; 17 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Jim Oliver Spokane

Memorial for Jim Oliver, 48, will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the multipurpose room at Riverside High School. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Oliver, who was born in Chicago, died Sunday.

He was a graduate of Knox College in Galesbur, Ill., and worked as a tree planter, timberfaller and for the Forest Service.

He later received his master’s degree in special education from Gonzaga University and worked as a behavior intervention specialist for Spokane area schools. He also taught deaf children for the Ephrata (Wash.) School District.

Mr. Oliver was a member of Eastern Washington Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia; a stepson, Justin; a stepdaughter, Josie; and his mother, Jean Oliver of Galesburn, Ill.

Connie Luedke Bruning Newport, Wash.

Service for Connie Luedke Bruning, 59, will be at 1 p.m. today at her home in Newport. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Bruning, who was born in Bremerton, died Tuesday.

She was a graduate of Spokane Falls Community College in gerontology.

She is survived by her husband of five years, Ron; four daughters, Patty Deviny, Barbara Davidson, Robin DeHerrera and Teresa Long, all of Spokane; two stepsons, Jerry Bruning of Chicago and Brandon Bruning of Polson, Mont.; a stepdaughter, Christine Gatchel of Camp Lajune, N.C.; her father, John Baustert of St. Edwards, Neb.; her mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Hisel of Puyallup, Wash.; two sisters, Barbara Twitchell of Seattle and Debbie Miller of Kirkland, Wash.; and 15 grandchildren.

Horace Workman Oldtown, Idaho

Visitation for Horace Owen Workman, 90, continues through Monday at Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport, Wash. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. April 19 at The Hullinger-Olpin Mortuary in Roosevelt, Utah, with burial to follow at the Roosevelt Cemetery at 11 a.m.

Mr. Workman, who was born in Park City, Utah, died Tuesday.

He worked as a mechanic for Trailway Bus Lines in Utah, retiring in 1972. He moved to the Inland Northwest in 1984.

His wife, Nancy, preceded him in death in April, 1996.

Survivors include a son, Floyd Workman of Oldtown; a daughter, Shirley Clawson of Corry, Pa.; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Caroline Knox Bonners Ferry, Idaho

Memorial service for Caroline Brant Knox, 87, will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Bonners Ferry Funeral Home. Internment will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Bonners Ferry.

Mrs. Knox, who was born in Detroit, died Wednesday.

She moved to Bonners Ferry in 1920 and owned a fruit orchard.

She was a farmer and later worked at the Community Hospital, retiring in 1974.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Len Brant in 1950 and Earl Knox in 1986. Survivors include a son, Leonard “Corky” Brant of Coeur d’Alene; a stepson, Everett Knox of Spokane; a stepdaughter, Ardith Klappenbach of California; two sisters, Lucy Himes of Boise and Susie Murrell Brown of Puyallup, Wash.; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Fry Healthcare Foundation, or the Seventh-day Adventist Church, both of Bonners Ferry.

Gudrun Berglin College Place, Wash.

Service for Gudrun Berglin, 97, will be at 9 a.m. today at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home in Walla Walla. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at Riverside Memorial Park in Spokane. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.

Mrs. Berglin, who was born in Wilmar, Minn., died Wednesday.

She was a homemaker and lived in Spokane for 32 years. She later lived in Grand Coulee, where she stayed until moving to Walla Walla in 1965.

Mrs. Berglin obtained her license in reflexology and practiced in her home. She was a member of the Undenominational Christian Church.

Her husband, Elmer, preceded her in death in 1964.

Survivors include three daughters, Genevieve Miller of Burbank, Wash., Darlene Berglin of Lakeland Village and Irene Canaan of Tacoma; a son, David Berglin of Walla Walla; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Linda Gilbert Greenacres

Memorial service for Linda Gilbert, 45, will be at 11 a.m. today at Millwood Presbyterian Church. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Gilbert, who was born in Ogden, Utah, died Tuesday.

She was a graduate of Shadle Park High School and worked for Health Care Incorporated at Greenacres.

Her survivors include her husband of 26 years, Jerry; a son, Jeff Gilbert of Spokane; a daughter, Leslie Burdick of Palmer, Alaska; her parents, Norman and Jeanne Sanderson of Spokane; her brother, John Sanderson of Spokane; two sisters, Dorothy Stevens of Newport, Wash., and Shirley Ekstrom of Spokane; and a granddaughter.

Ruth Krum Spokane

Visitation for Ruth E. Krum, 88, will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Krum, who was born in Spokane, died Tuesday.

She was a graduate of Lewis and Clark High School and received her bachelor’s degree at Eastern Washington University. She later taught school in Spokane for more than 20 years.

Mrs. Krum was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, Spokane Education Association, Washington Education Association, National Education Association, St. Marks Lutheran Church, the Corbin and Lincoln Heights South Hill Senior centers, Universal Dance Studio and the Gold Key Club.

Her husband, Adam, preceded her in death in 1971.

Survivors include a daughter, Ellen Jackson of Jonesboro, Ga.; two sons, Glen and Rob Krum both of Spokane; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Ted Schulze Beaverton, Ore.

No service will be held for Ted H. Schulze, 90, at his request. Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes in Portland is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Schulze, who was born in Burlington, Iowa, died Tuesday.

He managed Interior Design Studio and Bell Furniture in Spokane, and moved to Beaverton in 1994.

Mr. Schulze was a member of Millwood and Opportunity Presbyterian churches.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Roberta; a daughter, Suzanne Wiley of Bellevue; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Frances Muller Spokane

Service for Frances Fay Gooch Muller, 74, will be at 10 a.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home.

Mrs. Muller, who was born in Astoria, Ore., died Thursday.

She was a homemaker and later worked as a dietician for several years at Davis Convalescent Center.

Mrs. Muller is survived by two daughters, Gennie Howard of Sedro Wooley, Wash., and Carrie Nechanicky of Spokane; three sons, Dwight Lamp of Deer Park, Duane Lamp of Tacoma and Donald Muller of Spokane; a brother, Delbert Gooch of Graham, Wash.; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandson.
