Kootenai County 911 Recognizes Call Dispatchers

Kootenai County 911 recently recognized the dedication and work of call taker/dispatchers during the 1997 National Telecommunicator Week at a presentation held earlier this month. Employees and their recognitions are listed.

Kathy Christison, received the Excellence in Call Taking honor for exemplary conduct in the handling of a 911 call. Her response to a young caller’s request for help for his mother made a significant difference in the lives of a family.

Kathlene Patchett, was recognized for Excellence in Dispatching for exemplary conduct in handling radio traffic during a robbery-related call which resulted in a prompt response and apprehension of suspects.

Robinette Horan, received the Silent Hero Award for exemplary conduct in the field of emergency telecommunications. She was cited for professionalism, dedication, positive attitude and tireless efforts to serve the public. She has served the center as a certified Communications Training Officer in the past.

Local University of Idaho graduating seniors recently received recognition for academic achievement, campus and community leadership and activities at an awards assembly.

Recognized as outstanding freshmen were Jerid Keefer, Coeur d’Alene, son of Robert and Carolyn Keefer, majoring in production/ operations management major; Roshan Khosravi, child development/ family relationships; and Mahmood Sheikh, marketing, son of AbdulMannan Sheikh.

Spurs Awards to outstanding sophomores went to Brian Tenney, Moscow, son of Barry and Linda Tenney, accounting.

Others honored were Jennifer Moore, Coeur d’Alene, junior, sociology, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Moore; and Angela Wallace, senior, Moscow, information systems, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Wallace
