Don Hayes Post Falls

Memorial service for Don Hayes, 54, was Saturday at English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls.

Mr. Hayes, who was born in Massachusetts, died Wednesday.

He moved to Post Falls in 1982 from California and had worked as a painter with Summit Equipment in Post Falls in the equipment manufacturing industry.

Mr. Hayes was a member of the Post Falls American Legion.

Survivors include his mother, Mildred Hayes of California; two brothers, Mark Hayes of California and Cliff Hayes of Post Falls; two sisters, Judy Daignault of California and Pat Rowan of Arizona.

William Shields Blanchard, Idaho

Graveside service for William K. Shields, 64, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Greenwood Cemetery in Spirit Lake, Idaho. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Shields, who was born in Julesburg, Colo., died Wednesday.

He graduated from Spirit Lake High school and served in the Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Shields worked as a millwright in Coeur d’Alene and retired in 1994.

He was a member of the Spirit Lake Masonic Lodge 57 and the Spirit Lake Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1473.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Patricia; a son, Virgil Shields of Blanchard; a brother, Joe Shields of Western Grove, Ark.; and three sisters, Laura Brott of Montana, Mary Kay Copeland of Yellville, Ark., and Judy Sharp of Nebraska.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane.
