Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: For years I struggled to remove gummed labels and price tags from packages without damaging or marring the packages, with only nominal success at best. Recently, I decided to try something new.

I used a hair dryer on an item I didn’t want marred and found that after directing the heated air onto the label for only a few seconds, the label peeled off easily, quickly and cleanly. - Lamar Adams, Chapin, S.C.

Did you know that a hair dryer isn’t just for drying hair? Here are some other uses.

Use when you need to dust quickly.

Use to quick-dry tennis shoes.

Use to quick-dry a wet spot on your clothing. - Heloise
