Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: Like so many other families out there, I’m sure I’m not the only one who doesn’t have enough cupboards or counter space.

I have found the perfect solution. It’s a legal-size, lateral, metal filing cabinet. Being lateral, it won’t stick out far. They usually come with dividers to make compartments. Metal makes it strong, so it holds just about anything, even a microwave on top. I put my plastic stuff in it. You can stack bowls for efficient use and you can buy used and/or dental ones at a discount. Dianna Sivak, Sparks, Nev.

Dear Heloise: Over the years I have collected many useful recipes, but when I wanted to use them, I could never find the one I wanted.

So, I had my husband put a partition in one of my kitchen drawers, just as wide as a recipe filing card.

Then I made higher cards, putting the category name on each, such as cakes, pies, casseroles, meats, etc.

Now when I want a special recipe I know where to find it. I just love it. You will too. - Edna Leppert, Everett, Pa.
