Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: Instead of buying brown paper wrap for mailing packages, I use a large paper grocery bag. (They do want us to recycle!) Cut it on the same edges that they glue, open it up, turn it with the printing on the inside and wrap away! The outside of your package will be clean for writing the address.

I’ve been wanting to share this for ages. Thanks for the opportunity. - Diane Sullivan, Spokane

Dear Heloise: I run scraps of Christmas gift wrapping through my paper shredder. It makes colorful packing to use instead of foam peanuts. Old catalog pages also make colorful packing. - Joyce Gregg, Manhattan, Kan.

Your recycle, re-use earth-friendly hint is a winner all around. I’d love to print other super hints like this.

Drop me a line at Heloise, PO Box 795000, San Antonio TX 78279 or fax me at (210) H-E-L-O-I-S-E (435-6473). - Heloise
