Mark Wheeler Appointed Bsu’s Enrollment Dean

Former Rathdrum resident Mark Wheeler was recently selected dean of enrollment services at Boise State University. He succeeds Steve Spafford.

He has been assistant dean of admissions since 1991 and will be instrumental in BSU’s transition to an enrollment services concept, where students can receive financial aid, admissions and registration information in one location.

He was an admissions and financial aid counselor at Lewis Clark State College in Lewiston before joining BSU in 1990.

He graduated from Lakeland High School in 1982 and attended North Idaho College for two years.

Wheeler earned a bachelor’s degree in English from BSU in 1989 and received a master’s degree in public administration in 1996. He was news editor for the Post Falls Tribune from 1984 to 1986.
