Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: I use so many of your hints. I’d like to share one of mine.

When I purchase a gift for anyone, I write their name and describe the item on the bill and the price tag. Then if it needs to be exchanged, it’s easy to find. - S.E., Fort Wayne, Ind.

Dear Heloise: If you need packing materials for mailing packages, here is my method.

Save plastic bags in which newspapers are delivered. Use single thickness newspaper sheets, crumpling them and stuffing into the plastic bags. The bags can then be pressed down almost flat, or stuffed fuller, as needed. They fit into corners of your packing carton, can turn corners and can be adapted to any space that needs packing.

They are clean, lightweight and leave no newsprint on packed items. They are also reusable. - Genevieve Wall, Dallas
