Selleck Makes Deal With Warner

New York Daily News

Tom Selleck, riding high with the flick “In & Out,” has inked a long-term deal with Warner Bros. to produce and star in TV series and theatrical films.

Under the terms of the deal, Selleck will seek out properties to star in and/or produce, according to the announcement. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Production on Selleck’s first project, a midseason sitcom for CBS, is set to begin next month. It’s titled “The Closer,” and has Selleck, best known for “Magnum P.I.,” as an ad-agency executive.

Selleck’s sitcom has been in the works for nearly a year. At first he was linked with Barry Kemp, the creator of “Coach.” He is now teamed with Ed Decter and John J. Strauss (“Chicago Sons”).
