Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: As a time- and money-saving hint, I recommend signing up for automatic direct payment for your utility bill, telephone and cable TV.

You will receive your bill in the mail as usual so you know what the charges are, but you won’t have to write a check and mail it at 32 cents per letter. I even use it to pay my supplemental health insurance.

I highly recommend automatic direct deposit for retirement and Social Security benefits because it’s economical and safe.

I travel a lot, so it’s convenient and gives me peace of mind to know my funds are deposited in the bank and my bills are paid on time and current.

I’m a faithful reader of your column in the Billings (Mont.) Gazette. - Mrs. Arlene B. Legare, Glendive, Mont.

It’s amazing what can be done automatically these days. - Heloise
