Hints from Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: My husband and dad are farmers and wear overalls. Problem: How to keep the buckles from clanging in the dryer! Mother and I were worried that they would damage the insides of our dryers because they clanged and banged so much.

So, one night, Mom came up with a solution. Fold the bib down to the inside of the waist. Fold the straps to the inside also, and let the buckles hang down inside the legs. Take two large safety pins and secure the waist and back shut together. Now toss them in the dryer. They won’t clang anymore! — Nancy Albertson in Indiana

Nancy, your mother is brilliant! That clang, clang, bang — not to mention the nicks and chips on the dryer drum — can be annoying and destructive. Heloise
