Kris Kringle Markt opens in Loon Lake

Take part in a unique holiday shopping tradition by visiting the Loon Lake (Wash.) Historical Society’s annual Old Schoolhouse Kris Kringle Markt, beginning the day after Thanksgiving.

The German phrase for Christmas market, Kris Kringle Markt is a replica of an old-fashioned country store, complete with the smell of pine boughs, poinsettias, Christmas lights and music.

Proceeds from the market will assist the Loon Lake Old Schoolhouse with operating expenses and help with the preservation of the history of the Loon Lake community.

An old-fashioned bake sale will be held in conjunction with the market, which will be open Friday through next Sunday, and Saturdays through Dec. 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Tuesdays through Dec. 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the old schoolhouse, 4000 Colville Road, Loon Lake.
