It’s now a family night out

New Year’s Eve has traditionally been a holiday for grown-ups.

Today, New Year’s is an event for the whole family with First Night Spokane.

One of the events scheduled for the big day is Kids Night Out Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m.

There will be three stages of activities such as crafts, hat making, origami, boomerangs, drums and more.

There will also be an appearance by Ronald McDonald.

After Kids Night Out, everyone can head over to the park for First Night.

Kids 10 and younger get in free when accompanied by a button-wearing adult. Buttons are $12 in advance or $14 at the door.

Children’s Center open house

The North Idaho College Children’s Center is celebrating its 20th anniversary with an open house and reunion of all former center families and staff members Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. in the center behind Christianson Gym on the NIC campus.

The celebration is free, open to the public and there will be refreshments served.

Science show

Mobius Kids, 808 W. Main Ave., is presenting a Science show Jan. 6 from 1 to 1:30 p.m.

The show will include demonstrations of fun experiments.

The show is free with the price of admission, $5.75 for those 12 months and older, or $4.75 for military personnel and seniors.
