Ferris offers two evenings of improv

Fans of improvisational acting will have two opportunities this week to watch a show and even get in on the action.

Students at Ferris High School, 3020 E. 37th Ave., are preparing two evenings of improvisation and skits, “Commedia dell’Ferris,” on Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m.

Performers will use suggestions from the audience to act out scenes with song and dance at the shows.

The fine arts department at the school has even cast members of the administration to perform a version of “Romeo and Juliet,” in between the improvisational scene performed by the students.

Bob Crabb, the retiring assistant principal at Ferris will play Romeo.

The show will be performed in the Paul G. Brueggemeier Hall on the school campus. Tickets are $4 a person or $6 for both performances. By nature of the improvisational medium, the show will be different both nights.

For more information, call Mary Cooper, a language arts teacher and director of the theater arts program at (509) 354-6076.
