Galloping Contemplative

The Spiritus Center for Spirituality is presenting the Rev. Philip Roderick today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. 12th Ave.

Roderick, known as the Galloping Contemplative, is the founder of the Quiet Garden Movement. Today’s workshop will discuss the Contemplative Fire Project.

Admission is $35, which includes lunch.

‘Seussical’ at Met

The Christian Youth Theater is staging “Seussical the Musical” today and June 2-3 at 7 p.m., with 3 p.m. matinees today, Sunday and June 3 at The Met, 901 W. Sprague Ave.

The cast includes more than 70 students from throughout the Spokane area. Hosting the play is the one and only Cat in the Hat.

Advance tickets are $7 for kids 12 and younger and $8 for adults; all tickets at the door are $10. Today’s 3 p.m. performance is discounted to $5 for all seats, and there are special group and senior rates available for all performances.

Summer schedules

•Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 2733 W. Northwest Blvd., has announced its summer worship schedule.

Beginning Sunday, worship will begin at 9 a.m., with Bible class and Sunday school at 10:30 a.m. The church will keep this schedule until Sept. 3.

•The Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. 12th Ave., is offering summer services on Sundays at 8 and 10 a.m. from this weekend through Labor Day weekend. Saturday services will continue at 5:30 p.m.
