Engineers Forum of Spokane – Guest speakers Tim and Aija Rahman will present a slide show of their trip to Latvia, noon at the Holiday Inn Airport, 1616 Windsor Drive. Lunch is $13. (509) 244-3467.

Swimming team tryouts – The Spokane Area Swimming Team is looking for new members ages 6-16; 5-5:30 p.m. at the Shadle Park Pool, 4327 N. Ash. Swimmers must be able to complete 25 yards of freestyle and backstroke. (509) 326-7546.

Oktoberfest – Hosted by the German-American Society of Spokane, 6 p.m. Saturday at the Deutsches Haus, 25 W. Third. Dance to music by the Norm Seeberger Band, listen to the Concordia Choir and have traditional Oktoberfest food. Age 21 and over only. Admission is $10, which does not include food. Latino America – The Rev.
