Hillyard Festival

Spokane’s Hillyard neighborhood will celebrate its annual Hillyard Festival next weekend in Sharpley-Harmon Park, and some local churches will be participating in the event.

Next Saturday, St. Peter Lutheran Church will host a breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. at the church, 4620 N. Regal St. The cost is $4 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under.

The weekend also will include an opportunity to worship. St. Peter Lutheran will join the congregations of Fellowship Church of God, Minnehaha Covenant Church and Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church in hosting a worship service in Sharpley-Harmon Park at 10 a.m. on Aug. 5.

All are welcome to attend.

Gospel concert

The Southern gospel quartet Sweet Presence will perform this weekend at Foothills Community Church, 11102 N. Forker Road.

The group will perform during the 8:15 and 11 a.m. worship services Sunday. A potluck lunch will begin at 12:30 p.m., after the final service.
