Hints from Heloise

The Spokesman-Review

Dear Heloise: My hint: When you receive flowers or a plant as a gift from someone from out of town, include a picture of the plant or flowers with your thank-you note so the giver can see just what was sent. – Irene Riedlinger, Glendive, Mont.

Irene, this is a thoughtful gesture, and then the sender can know for sure that what he or she ordered was delivered! - Heloise

Dear Readers: Here are a few handy places where you can take old books that you no longer want:

•Schools – give to teachers or to the library.

•Take to nursing homes.

•Donate to town libraries.

•Offer to prison libraries.

•Give to friends.

•You also can donate them to a charitable organization.

Always call these places first to be sure they will welcome your donation.Heloise
