‘Rockin’ Eve’ to feature Jonas Brothers

From wire reports

The Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift and Lionel Richie will ring in 2009 from Times Square on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.”

They will perform live during the ABC broadcast, joining Clark in New York along with his co-host Ryan Seacrest, the network announced.

Kellie Pickler also will be on hand in Times Square with live reports on the festivities.

As previously announced, Natasha Bedingfield, Fall Out Boy, Jesse McCartney, Ne-Yo, Pussycat Dolls, Solange and Robin Thicke will perform during the Hollywood Party segments, which will be hosted by Fergie.

A New Year’s Eve tradition, the show will begin Dec. 31 at 10 p.m.

Dancing with each other

Although Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin were on separate seasons of “Dancing With the Stars,” they’re going to be together for their next TV adventure.

The celebrity couple will star in a reality pilot about their lives for TV Land, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The unscripted project will follow the lives of the couple along with their two daughters: Delilah Belle, 10, and Amelia Gray, 7.

If the pilot presentation goes well, it’s likely that the project will be picked up as a half-hour series to premiere in 2009. Jason Carbone is executive producing.

Rinna and Hamlin have worked together previously in the Lifetime movie “Sex, Lies & Obsession” and as a married couple on the first season of “Veronica Mars.”

CNN’s ‘Late’ addition

Soon, Wolf Blitzer can sleep in Sunday mornings.

CNN’s “Late Edition” is about to get a makeover, with John King taking over from Blitzer, the Sunday newscast’s anchor for 10 years.

The first hour of the four-hour block will focus on politics, followed by national and world affairs, the network says.

It also will include “Reliable Sources,” the media-oriented discussion program hosted by Howard Kurtz.

With the broadcast’s January debut, King will retain his title as chief national correspondent.

Blitzer, CNN’s lead anchor for political coverage, will continue anchoring the three-hour “Situation Room” each weekday.

Both he and King have extended their contracts through 2012.
