‘Mole,’ ‘Legally Blond’ are back

Mike Hughes Gannett News Service

Tonight’s might-see

“The Mole” (ABC) or “Legally Blonde: The Search for the New Elle Woods” (MTV) debuts; both 10 p.m.

ABC dusts off an idea that debuted in 2001 and had four editions, two with celebrities. A dozen strangers meet in Chile and start their adventures; one is trying to sabotage them, but they don’t know which one. Meanwhile, MTV brings back an idea that thrived in England (with “Sound of Music”), but not on NBC (with “Grease”): Choose a Broadway star via a reality show. Young women try to follow Tony nominee Laura Bell Bundy in “Legally Blonde,” which recently started its second Broadway year. Haylie Duff hosts.

Tonight’s might-see II

“House,” 9 p.m., Fox. This terrific rerun has House trying to work alone. A young woman was severely injured when a building collapsed. With no team, House confers with the janitor.

Other choices include:

“The Bachelorette,” 8-10 p.m., ABC. DeAnna Pappas goes on the “Ellen” show and the guys are questioned backstage. She dates two men, takes the other 10 to a dude ranch, then trims the field to nine.

Hockey, 5 p.m., NBC. Here’s the fifth game of the best-of-seven championship. It returns to Detroit, where the Red Wings host the Penguins.

“Bones,” 8 p.m., Fox. The serious part of this rerun begins when teens are jolted by a skull crashing through their windshield. The real highlight, however, has Angela trying to get a divorce, so she can marry Hodgins. It would help if she knew her husband’s name.

“Two and a Half Men,” 9 p.m., CBS. Charlie is eager for sex with Linda, but he keeps catching glimpses of Rose.

“The Capture of the Green River Killer” (2008), 9-11 p.m., Lifetime; concludes Tuesday. Solidly acted, this mini-series views the real-life search for a Seattle-area serial killer. Tom Cavanagh, Amy Davidson and Sharon Lawrence star.

Also: As summer nears, PBS tries to keep kids from being stagnant. Several new cartoon episodes will deal with food and exercise. Between shows today, a new video has cartoon characters moving to “Get Up and Go,” by They Might Be Giants. The shows start at 9 a.m. in many markets; check local listings.
