An Oscar for best party

The Spokesman-Review

I n Hollywood, attending the Oscars award celebration means traffic jams, long lines and “A” level stress.

But for Spokane partygoers, it was a breeze.

The Spokane AIDS Network’s annual Oscar Night Gala, held at Northern Quest Casino last Sunday, was all about fun. And raising funds.

After walking the red carpet, guests browsed silent auction items or bid on travel packages and artwork auctioned off by emcee Mark Peterson while large screen televisions broadcast the ceremony.

Accessorized by a meal of Filet Mignon or Sea Salt and Black Pepper Salmon, highlighted by a “Chocolate Symphony” Mousse, and dressed with movie magic glamour, the evening was a big hit.

At the end of the night, everyone went home a winner.
