Kids can ‘Color Washington’

From Staff Reports

Spokane kids can bring their home state to life through a new coloring book.

A local mother-daughter team has produced “Color Washington,” full of images and word games related to the Evergreen State, from Boeing to Bing (Crosby, that is) to Bloomsday.

It was created by Elly Landwehr and illustrated by her mother, Leslie Landwehr, an elementary school art teacher at Winton and Bryan schools in Coeur d’Alene.

They previously collaborated on a Coeur d’Alene coloring book that’s out of print.

“I just saw a need for an educational activity book about Washington, not only for kids who live here but also tourists,” Elly Landwehr says.

The book is available for $7 at Auntie’s Bookstore, 402 W. Main Ave. For more information, see www.colorwashington.com.
