Will they divorce themselves?
Miss California USA pageant directors say Carrie Prejean may have violated her contract by publicly opposing same-sex marriage, and by posing semi-nude as a teenage model.
The contract prohibits the title holder from doing personal appearances or interviews without permission from pageant officials.
Prejean has made televised appearances on behalf of the National Organization for Marriage, a group that works to oppose same-sex marriage.
The contract also asks contestants whether they have conducted themselves “in accordance with the highest ethical and moral standards.”
A photo of Prejean wearing only pink panties with her back turned to the camera appeared on a gossip blog Monday.
She said she was a 17-year-old model at the time, and added: “I am a Christian, and I am a model. Models pose for pictures, including lingerie and swimwear photos.”
Prejean was first runner-up in the Miss USA pageant last month. Her statement that she opposed same-sex marriage in response to a question made her the darling of religious conservatives.
His term may be limited
Elizabeth Edwards says that whether she still is in love with her husband after his admitted affair is a “complicated question.”
On today’s “Oprah Winfrey Show,” Winfrey asks Edwards whether she still loves former Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Edwards, and adds, “Is it a day-by-day thing?”
She replies: “Neither one of us is out the door so I guess it’s day by day, but maybe it’s month by month.”
But she’s still a real pill
Paula Abdul says she overcame a 12-year addiction to painkillers last year.
The “American Idol” judge tells Ladies Home Journal that she checked into a resort and spa in California last Thanksgiving and weaned herself off her medications.
The magazine says the 46-year-old singer-dancer suffered for years from chronic pain caused by a series of accidents.
Must have been a bad day
New York police are investigating claims by a fashion designer who says actor Kiefer Sutherland head-butted him at a nightclub.
The designer says Sutherland, star of Fox’s “24,” attacked him after an argument, causing a cut on his face.
Sutherland last year served 48 days in jail on a drunken driving charge.
Who almost shot MB?
Victoria Principal and her former housekeeper are suing each other over an incident where she waved a gun at the woman.
The former “Dallas” star says she pulled the gun after Maribel Banegas injured her dog while taking it for a walk, and acted aggressively during an argument about that.
Banegas claims Principal fired her, then refused to pay her, after berating her for taking too long to walk the dog.
