TV notes: NBC will not renew drama ‘Undercovers’
NBC is pulling the plug on its new fall drama “Undercovers.”
The network said Thursday it won’t order any new episodes of the Wednesday night series about a couple in the catering business who are lured back into their former jobs as spies.
Seven episodes have aired so far. Its last scheduled appearance will be Dec. 1, although three more episodes that have been shot that will be seen sometime after that.
Rallying around Jon
For the first time, Jon Stewart – whose “Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear” drew hundreds of thousands to Washington, D.C., on Saturday – has become the top late-night host among viewers ages 18 to 49, according to the Nielsen Co.
For October, Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” was the No. 1 show in that demographic, averaging 1.3 million viewers compared with 1.2 million apiece for both NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and CBS’ “Late Show with David Letterman.”
