Wizards cut Adam Morrison

The NBA’s Washington Wizards on Thursday released former Gonzaga University standout Adam Morrison and 10-year veteran Sean Marks.

Morrison’s agent, Aaron Mintz, confirmed the release to The Washington Post in a text message. Morrison, whom the Charlotte Bobcats chose as the No. 3 overall pick in the 2006 NBA draft, won two championships with the Los Angeles Lakers the past two seasons but has not seen significant action since his rookie year in Charlotte.

In four preseason games, Morrison averaged five points. Coach Flip Saunders said he “did some good things.” But it wasn’t enough to secure a spot.

Often times once the great college players that get all the media get to the NBA they fizzle out and the picks down the line do great. However Adam Morrison is a great ball player and I think he simply did not get enough play and was not flashy enough for the media. Good luck Adam you are one of the greatest college players of all time!

Ammo never had the speed and quickness to roll with the pros. He got play but just couldn’t bring it at that level. Reminiscent of Ryan Leaf except Ammo was likable. Just not able to upskill to the bigs. Not enough horsepower.

Probably wishes he stayed at Gonzaga for one more season, if he stayed who knows what that team could have done.

Of course I am sure his millions of dollars is able to comfort him at night.

Cougar: Don’t forget the two rings he “earned” riding pine with the Lakers.

Should have finished his degree, but that strength and height can be put to good use mopping floors and cleaning windows.

arliacne: I bet Adam paid close enough attention in school to manage the tens of million of dollars in salary he earned to avoid the drudgery you depicted.

Did you see the suits he wore while riding pine in L.A.?

Clearly off the rack. No bling, grillz, very few hair cuts… I bet he stretches that dough over a lifetime easily.

Now he’s got time to carry Rodney Stuckey’s duffle bag.
