Pee-wee planning road trip

From Wire Reports

Pee-wee Herman hopes to take his act back on the road for a new big-screen adventure.

Paul Reubens said at the Comic-Con fan convention Thursday in San Diego that he’s working with Hollywood comedy powerhouse Judd Apatow to produce a new Pee-wee movie.

Reubens played the oddball man-child on television and in two feature films, including Tim Burton’s 1985 comedy “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure.”

He says Apatow felt strongly that the new film should return Pee-wee to his life on the road.

Brown goes rom-com

It would have seemed improbable two years ago, but Chris Brown is coming to a theater near you in a romantic comedy.

The singer/actor will star alongside Steve Harvey, Gabrielle Union, Taraji P. Henson and Michael Ealy in “Think Like A Man,” an adaptation of Harvey’s best-selling advice book for women, “Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man.”

Brown’s involvement in the film is another sign of his comeback since his 2009 attack on girlfriend Rihanna, for which he pleaded guilty to assault.

His album “F.A.M.E.” has gone gold, and last week a record crowd of 18,000 fans showed up to see him perform on the “Today” show.

Brown has acted in other movies, including “Takers” and “Stomp the Yard.”

Scott swears by 3-D

Ridley Scott, who’s making his first 3-D movie, says he’s sold on the multidimensional approach.

Scott appeared at Comic-Con on Thursday via satellite from Iceland, where he is shooting the sci-fi thriller “Prometheus,” starring Charlize Theron and Noomi Rapace.

He said 3-D doesn’t just enhance action sequences, it “opens up the universe of even a small dialogue thing. … I’ll never work without 3-D again.”

“Prometheus,” which explores questions of alien DNA, is set for release next year.
