Spokane Shock add two receivers

The Spokane Shock added wide receivers Donte Davis and Jacob Payne to their Arena Football League roster on Thursday.

The team placed defensive back Lemetrius Davis on re-assignment. Receiver Verran Tucker was placed on the physically-unable-to-perform list and offensive lineman Isaiah Agson was activated from the list.

Donte Davis, 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds, played at Syracuse (2006-09).

Payne, 6-1 and 210, was a receiver and a running back at Grand Rapids Community College.

Track and field: Idaho senior Andrew Blaser won three of the four events on the first day of the men’s indoor heptathlon at the Western Athletic Conference indoor championships at Nampa, Idaho, to take the lead with 2,868 points. Vandals senior Jeremy Klas is fourth and teammate Colin Briggs, a junior, is fifth. Blaser won the shot put, long jump and high jump and was second in the 60-meter dash.

Idaho freshman Johanna Hocketstaller finished fourth in the women’s pentathlon with 3,323 points with junior teammate Alyssa Covington eighth and redshirt freshman Reba Eggert 15th.

Swimming: Paige Hunt finished sixth and Mairin Jameson eighth in 1-meter diving as the Vandals remained fifth after the second day of the WAC championship meet in San Antonio. Lyndsay Williams set a school record in the 200 individual medley in a swim-off in 2:04.06.
