WILBUR, Roger Jesse
Roger Jesse Wilbur was born on August 7, 1934 in Seattle, WA to Grace (Pettett) and Walter Wilbur.
Roger, a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend, passed away on March 10, 2012 in Chandler, AZ.
Roger served his country in the Korean War, worked hard and retired from Alcoa.
Roger was a pigeon enthusiast who won several awards through the years, racing and competing with his beloved birds.
He had several articles written about him in Wenatchee, WA papers where he resided while raising his family.
Roger’s care and compassion was duly noted through many years, not only for his birds but for his large extended family.
Roger is survived by his children, Cindy King, Gerri (Harry) Kuehl, Lorri Dietmeyer, Penni Schneckloft and Roger Allen Wilbur; stepsons, Chris Berg, Kevin and Scott Berg; sisters, Marie Phelps, June Johnston and Joyce Gilreath; 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Misako Groh; brothers, Jack Goren and Glenn Wilbur; and sisters Josephine Blayney, Agness Lancaster, Dorothy Wahmsby, Betty Jean Wilbur and Gloria Johnston.
Memorial Service was held Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Horizon Bay Assisted Living, Chandler AZ.
Memorial arrangements are pending for Everett and Spokane, WA.
He will be missed.
