Police: Infant dies after assault

BILLINGS – An infant that police in Billings said was assaulted by his parents on Christmas Eve has died at a hospital in Colorado.

Kayla Jean Edwards, 23, and Brandon Tory Edwards, 28, remain jailed. Police Lt. Jeremy House said authorities are waiting to hear what the latest charges against the couple will be following the death of their 2-month-old son.

Prosecutors said the baby was choked and suffered a brain injury.

House said the boy died early Saturday at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Aurora, Colorado.
