Lentil Festival seeks recipes
Organizers are looking for lively lentil recipes for the 20th annual Legendary Lentil Cook-off.
The competition will take place in Pullman Aug. 22 and 23. Entries must be postmarked by June 16.
The top five finalists will prepare their recipes at the legume fest. Dishes will be sampled by celebrity judges and the first 100 fest-goers. The top prize-winner will take home $2,000.
Entries will be judged on ease of preparation, flavor, texture, creativity, and appearance and use of lentils. Recipes must use a half-cup of dry or 1 cup of cooked lentils – and a maximum of 15 ingredients.
Applications for the cook-off can be found at www.lentilfest.com. For more information, call (509) 334-3565.
