“Private Violence”: This timely, highly important 90-minute documentary examines the horrors of domestic abuse through the eyes of two female survivors. Presented during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the film sheds light on the complex, frustrating realities of the abuse women suffer every day at the hands of intimate partners, as well as the difficulties of prosecuting the cases and why it isn’t always easy for victims to simply “walk away.” 9 p.m. Monday, HBO.

SUNDAY: It’s “The Simpsons” 25th annual “Treehouse of Horror” episode and you know what that means: More macabre hilarity. Tonight’s special includes a segment in which Homer and Marge meet a ghost family that resembles the Simpsons as they appeared in 1987, when they debuted on “The Tracey Ullman Show.” 8 p.m., Fox.

SUNDAY: Things get extra creepy on “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” when the team finds itself looking into a group of spell-casting Wiccans after a high school chemistry teacher goes up in flames while conducting an experiment. 10 p.m., CBS.

MONDAY: It’s shades of the Ebola crisis on “The Blacklist” as the FBI targets a group of eco-terrorists who might be planning to unleash a strain of the Black Plague upon the world. 10 p.m., NBC.

TUESDAY: Break out the peanuts and Cracker Jack: It’s time for the 2014 World Series. Game 1 is played tonight in the home ballpark of the American League champion. 5 p.m., Fox.

TUESDAY: “Pretty Little Liars: We Love You to Death” is a “Halloween treat” for fans of the show. Cast members offer a behind-the-scenes tour of Rosewood and share some of their favorite eerie moments. 8 p.m., ABC Family.

TUESDAY: “Freak Out” might have you doing just that. It’s a devilish hidden-camera show that uses elaborate special effects and makeup to scare the heck out of unsuspecting marks. 9 p.m., ABC Family.

WEDNESDAY: Season 2 of the sci-fi saga “The 100” delivers us back to a nuclear war-ravaged Earth. Our advice: Be aware of the Grounders. 9 p.m., The CW.

THURSDAY: Is “Project Runway” still making it work for you? Season 13 comes to a close tonight as Heidi Klum and company crown a winner during New York Fashion Week. 9 p.m., Lifetime.

FRIDAY: Bring on the creepy creatures. “Grimm” returns for its fourth season and we’re wondering what Nick (David Giuntoli) is going to do now that he can’t spot Wesen. 8 p.m., NBC.

FRIDAY: Just in time for Halloween comes “Constantine.” Based on the “Hellblazer” comic book series, it’s the story of a “master of dark arts” (Matt Ryan) who tangles with demons and other supernatural freaks. 10 p.m., NBC.

SATURDAY: Catherine Bell returns as Cassie Nightingale in “The Good Witch’s Wonder.” This latest tale in the movie series has Cassie using her powers to conjure up the truth about a new resident who is hiding a secret past. 9 p.m., Hallmark Channel.
