Three boys admit plastic wrap prank
Shoshone County deputies have identified three boys believed to be the “Saran Wrap Bandits” who were stretching kitchen plastic wrap across Interstate 90 in late March.
The Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that the trio admitted to stretching plastic wrap across the highway on March 21. They told deputies they’d heard about a similar prank about a year ago and wanted to re-create it.
KREM reported at least one vehicle was seriously damaged by the prank.
The boys told deputies they were not involved in a second incident on March 22. They said they just wanted to play a practical joke and didn’t intend to hurt anybody.

Boyfriend denies he shot girlfriend
Cameron D. Keith, who was on the run from police for more than a week, has denied shooting his girlfriend in the abdomen.
He told police this week that he and Christen DeMars were alone in their Hillyard apartment at 2928 E. Diamond Ave. the morning of March 24, according to court records. He said he was sitting on the edge of the bed while DeMars lay down behind him. Keith told police he fell asleep sitting up after he injected heroin.
Keith said he woke up when he heard a gunshot. He told police DeMars was still sleeping, but woke up and grabbed her abdomen after he yelled her name. There were two guns on the bed but Keith said neither he nor DeMars fired a gun.
Keith said that DeMars may have rolled onto one of the guns while lying on the bed and the gun went off accidentally, according to court documents.
Police have filed a search warrant to seize the mattress and all the bedding for testing.
Keith is jailed in Benton County as the investigation continues.
